Duchess Meghan appears to be calm and carefree while settling into her new part time home of Canada.
Meghan Markle was spotted driving and picking up a friend from the Victoria International Airport yesterday afternoon. The photos, first published on The Daily Mail, are some of the first casual shots of the duchess since she and her husband Prince Harry had announced their decision to step down as senior members of the royal family.
In the photos, Meghan appears to be wearing a sherpa lined coat, ribbed knit beanie, and oversized, dark sunglasses with her hair flowing down her shoulders.
Meghan is seen in the driver’s seat of a Land Rover awaiting her friend Heather Dorak, the founder of Pilates Platinum. Dorak was one of a handful of close friends who attended Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harry in 2018.
Meghan returned to Canada in the days following her and Prince Harry’s announcement that they plan to split time between the U.K. and North America. Harry, on the other hand, has remained in London to attend a family summit called by the queen regarding the Sussexes’ stepping down and fulfill previously scheduled royal duties.
“This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity,” the royal couple said of relocating in their official statement.
“We look forward to sharing the full details of this exciting next step in due course, as we continue to collaborate with Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and all relevant parties.”
