Meghan Markle and Prince Harry just shared their family’s first Christmas photo with their 7-month-old son, Archie. The monochrome snap shows the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sitting behind a crawling Archie. Prince Harry and Markle are smiling from ear to ear while looking at their adorable son. While speaking with Express, body language expert Judi James analyzed the royal couple’s snap and said that it was evident Prince Harry and Markle didn’t mind being upstaged by Archie.
James also said that the royal family’s photo was evidently candid and unplanned. “This probably was quite a traditional Xmas line-up initially but it’s clear that when a more spontaneous and quite funny moment occurred the result suited Harry and Meghan’s taste for a cool, stylish, fashion magazine looks much better,” she said.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also bucked the royal trend of sharing colored Christmas photos. They opted to release a monochrome snap that reportedly showed their desire for change and modernization. “With them sitting lovingly and casually together on the floor and with their eyes on their son rather than the camera we are also seeing a message of a family of three who are totally bound up in their love for one another,” James said.
Meanwhile, not everyone is pleased with Prince Harry, Markle, and Archie’s Christmas photo. On Twitter, some netizens accused the Sussexes of photoshopping the picture.
“Wow, this is such bad photoshopping. I thought it was a joke at first. This isn’t helping to fight those conspiracy theories; like that Meghan and Harry are not together, neither has since Archie since South Africa tour, Harry will secretly go to Sandringham without her,” Twitter user @PeteyR13 said.
But despite the backlash, Prince William and Kate Middleton showed support for the Sussexes. The couple liked Prince Harry and Markle’s Christmas card using their official Twitter account.
