Prince William has opened up about the ‘sadness’ he feels over the broken bond with his younger brother, Prince Harry.
A close friend to the princes has revealed that the close relationship the princes once had has soured over the past year.
William is said to be very upset with the way their relationship has gone.
According to The Sunday Times, William said: ‘I’ve put my arm around my brother all our lives and I can’t do that any more – we’re separate entities.’
William also admitted that he was frustrated that Harry was no longer part of the ‘team’ by deciding to step back from being a senior member of the royal family.
Since announcing their decision to step back from their prominent roles in the royal family, William is understood to be ‘incandescent.’
Harry previously spoke out about the new relationship between himself and his big brother.
In a groundbreaking documentary where Harry and Meghan Markle spoke for the first time about the inner working of their private life, he confessed to deepening tensions between them.
‘Part of this role, part of this job and this family being under the pressure it is under, inevitably stuff happens,’ he said during the ITV documentary, Harry and Meghan: An African Journey.
But look, we are brothers, we will always be brothers. We are certainly on different paths at the moment but I will always be there for him and, as I know, he will always be there for me.’
He added, ‘We don’t see as much as we used to because we are so busy but I love him dearly and the majority of stuff is created out of nothing.’
‘As brothers, you have good days, you have bad days.’
