The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been treated well by Hollywood royalty since starting their new life in California. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been staying at this swanky Beverly Hills mansion belonging to producer and actor Tyler Perry, it has been revealed.
It is not clear whether the pair are renting the home or staying as guests but there is no record of the pad being sold. It is thought they met the owner through their mutual close friend Oprah Winfrey.
Since moving to Los Angeles from Canada around the end of March, the duke and duchess have been keeping a relatively low profile with their baby son Archie as they stay in the the $18 million (£14.5 million) Tuscan-style villa.
The 22-acre home in the gated Beverly Ridge Estates community has 12 bathrooms and eight bedrooms and is blessed with breathtaking views of the city, DailyMailTV reports. Harry and Meghan have only been seen in public a few times since moving to LA.
They secretly delivered food parcels to sick people during the lockdown and were also spotted walking their dogs with bandanas covering their faces. The Sussexes stepped down as senior royals on March 31 and initially moved to a rented home in Vancouver, Canada, before travelling to California to settle down permanently.
The first year of their new chapter as a family is being paid for by Prince Charles while they search for a ‘forever home’. Neither Harry or Meghan have been seen in public with 50-year-old Perry, known best for his cross-dressing portrayal of Madea in the hit series of films.
But it is thought they met him through talk-show host Oprah, who they consider to be their Hollywood mentor. The businesswoman is the godmother of Perry’s five-year-old son Aman and was last seen at the mansion for his christening party in 2015.
Harry and Meghan are currently working on a documentary series with Oprah. In the past Perry has teamed up with the presenter’s OWN TV channel. A source told DailyMail.Com: ‘Meghan and Harry have been extremely cautious to keep their base in LA under wraps.
‘Their team helped them choose the location for their transition to Los Angeles wisely. Beverly Ridge is an excellent place to keep out of view. The neighbors are mostly old money and mega rich business types rather than show business gossips.
‘It goes without saying that the location is stunning – just one of the most beautiful and desirable areas in LA.’ Only 14 homes are in the ultra-exclusive community where leases reportedly range from around $20,000 (£16,146) to $40,000 (£32,292) a month. Hollywood real estate agent Rochelle Maize said it could set you back around $16 million (£12,916,800) to buy a home there.
