The Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality is still available for two days. This PC game bundle offers more than 1400 indie games for US$5 [AU$7].
Itch.io is an open marketplace for indie game developers. It is currently offering the PC game bundle for Racial Justice and Equality. The goal is to raise funds for the Black Lives Matter movement. It includes more than a thousand games at an affordable price.
The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund and Community Bail Fund will receive the total sales revenue. The two organizations will split the sales 50/50.
The PC game bundle has raised a total of $6.3 million with more than 616,000 contributions. The initial target fund is $5 million.
There are 1,400 games included on the bundle as mentioned earlier. Some games are casual while others will take hours of playtime.
Here are the hidden gems included in the bundle.
Celeste is one of the best platformer games available today. It usually comes on sale, but for $5, it is a no brainer to get this one.
It follows the adventure of Madeline as she tries to reach the top of the Celeste mountain. The narrative accompanies more than 700+ levels of platforming challenges.
This game is also available on Steam and on the Nintendo Switch.
2. Art Sqool
This game makes players unleash their creative juices. Art Sqool takes place in a fictional school. The players unlock brushes and other materials for their art class.
There is a drawing pad included that the players use to create artworks. An NPC professor grades the artwork. The progress determines if the player graduates from the Art Sqool.
It offers short gameplay of around 4-6 hours. However, it is not bad for a game that is inside an affordable bundle.
3. A Mortician’s Tale
This title is a positively reviewed short game that takes about one hour to finish. A Mortician’s Tale lets the player take the role of a mortician in her own funeral home.
The game is simple as well. Prepare the dead bodies for cremation or embalming and check out their funerals. This happens while listening to the stories of the deceased.
It is a feel-good game that tackles death in a positive way.
4. Catlateral Damage
Every once in awhile people think of living a different life—a cat perhaps. Catlateral Damage fulfills this fantasy living as a destructive cat.
It is a first-person cat simulator game. The player goes on a rampage and tries to knock a lot of things inside the game.
Catlateral Damage has very simple controls—walk, jump, look around, crouch. The two paws are used to swipe at items to knock them off.
Cat lovers will enjoy this game as there are more than 200 cat photos scattered in the game waiting to be unlocked.
5. A Normal Lost Phone
Story-driven games are a joy to play with. A Normal Lost Phone offers a great story told through a smartphone.
The player picks up the smartphone of Sam. It is up to the player to discover what happened to him. It is achieved by checking out what is left in his device.
There are secrets scattered all throughout the apps inside the smartphone. The hidden clues are in the gallery, notes, contacts, messages, and many more.
It is a unique take on telling a story. The game is relatable as it tackles issues such as homophobia and depression.
6. Puzzle Puppers
This bundle does not exempt dogs from its roster. Puzzle Puppers is a puzzle game wherein players stretch dogs to reach their food bowls.
The game is easy to pick up with simple puzzles available. It is a great way to pass time while commuting or bored.
Rivers and holes are some of the challenges included in the game. But, these are also used to solve some puzzles. There are levels wherein several food bowls are available. It is up to the player to pick the right one.
Puzzle Puppers offer 80 levels of puzzles. It ranges from a simple puzzle on a small map to very challenging ones in a complicated location.
There are more games included in this PC game bundle that is worth playing. But for now, these six games are a great start.
